When I first saw the price of this machine, currently around 5, I was expecting a very basic model of sewing machine but instead was pleasantly surprised with what it has to offer.

It is lightweight (12 pounds) and has 35 built-in utility, decorative, quilting and heirloom stitches, with 73 stitch functions to help you master any project. And if you are a quilter or working with thick fabrics you will benefit from the inclusion of an over-sized table attachment, a walking foot, quilt guide and reinforcement function. However, if you only want to hem pants or shorten sleeves then the Brother XL-3750 just as effortlessly converts from a flatbed to a free-arm sewing surface.

The Brother XL-3750 is powered by an 110V motor and the power cord is housed within the body.
To start operation and to vary the speed (up to 800 stitches per minute) the machine employs a foot pedal for these functions. To reverse stitch, there is a prominent button which is easy to push (and the machine responds quickly), and a dial that allows you to adjust the thread tension. And, just so that you can quickly and easily identify the stitch you require, the stitches are illustrated on the side of the machine.
